Description

Fits '58-'02 262-400 c.i.d. Chevy Small BlocksStreet/strip Applications with 125+ HP nitrous or medium blower - 2500+ stall - Rough idleXtreme Energyâ„¢ Cams are designed to maximize torque, acceleration and throttle response while providing excellent high RPM horsepower. A faster intake valve opening increases engine vacuum and enhances throttle response. Special intake closing ramps close the valve sooner, providing more cylinder pressure and torque without resulting in excessive valve train noise. Faster ramps achieve maximum velocity sooner, increasing the area under the lift curve and providing maximum horsepower. Smoother exhaust designs allow for a more effective purge of spent gasses from the combustion chamber to further increase horsepower. For Carb or Tunable Fuel Injection3 1: Cams for '55-'57 engines can be custom ordered. 2: The '87+ Chevy Small Block received provisions for Roller lifters. Most '87 - '93 GM cars came with Roller lifters, but most '87 - '95 trucks came with flat tappet lifters in Roller lifter style blocks. If a Roller Cam is desired and your block has OEM-style Roller Cam provisions. COMP Hydraulic Roller Lifter Install Kit for '87-'90 Blocks or '91-'02 Blocks can be purchased, as well as a '87+ OE-Style Hydraulic Roller Cam.
Street/strip applications, 125+ hp kit or medium blower, 2500+ stall. Rough idle.
Fits Chevrolet GEN 1 Small Blocks including the 262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350 and 400. Does not fit LT1/LT4, or factory roller Small Blocks built from 1985 and newer. GM gradually added roller camshafts to 305's and 350's from the mid 80's forward. Camaros/Firebirds/Corvettes received the roller cams early, but many trucks and SUV's had flat tappet cams until the mid 90's. Remove the intake or timing cover to confirm whether the block is a factory roller or flat tappet. Does not fit the LS1, LS2, LS3 or any LS-based 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0 and 6.2. 1955-1957 Chevrolet 265 engines require a groove on the 5th cam journal for oiling. Contact us for more information.
