Description
Top CR500 Kart engine builders will tell you that you want to run your kart engine as cool as possible.
The fact is that every degree your CR500’s core temperature is over 70*f your CR500 engine is losing power.
Sadly, we all know realistic race temps are around 190*f. If you are hitting 220*f you are on the verge of heat soaking, which is the cliff where power drops off dramatically and recovery from it is too late for a win.
Our “phi” High Volume Impeller Kit and OptiFlo High Flow Elbow are the key to seriously knock those race temperatures down to power increasing temps plus give you that extra buffer from heat soak.
There are only 3 ways to add extra cooling to your CR500:
-Bigger frontal radiator area. Typically, not going to happen in an Outlaw Kart and thicker radiators only slightly delay the inevitable
-Cooler air going through the radiator. Strictly subject to the air temperature your driving in and the air flowing around the karts that hopefully aren’t in front of you.
-More Coolant Flow. This is where MSV Racing’s “phi” High Volume Impeller works its magic!
Rigorous flow bench testing and real-world Outlaw Kart race testing validates that the MSV Racing’s “phi” impeller dramatically improves your CR500 engine’s H2O cooling and pumping performance over OEM, Frank’s MX, Mino, Apico and AS3 impellers, totally dominating the competition!
Machined from Premium Alcoa 7075 T6-511 Aluminum ensures durability and stress resistance, over a life time of use.
This, as well as very close tolerances between impeller and housing, offers a 1.5 avg. GPM more coolant flow along the entire rpm curve. The increase in flow reduces the cycle time between the engine and the radiator providing more adequate heat removal. The overall benefit is lowering the engine temperature by up to 25*F over the competition’s impellers.
Also, the high efficiency of the “phi” Impeller FREES horsepower your engine is already making. Dyno testing showed up to 2.12hp FREED over a 1750 RPM range vs the competitors!
Remember, Horsepower = Heat. The better you can cool your CR500 engine the more horsepower “HEAT” it can handle.

We found 16*f cooler coolant temps and are going to run a smaller rad to boost our power to weight ratio.
