MSV Racing High Flow Banshee Impeller/Shaft Kit

For two-strokes, 104–122 °F coolant temp is the sweet spot for max power. Push past 140 °F and your Banshee is bleeding 1% horsepower for every degree hotter. This is where the MSV Racing Banshee High Flow Impeller shines. Proven to cool up to 20*f  better than the competition!

I was struggling to keep my temps down on my 99 banshee after destroying the factory plastic impeller. A quick google search and I learned that these banshees are plagued with overheating problems for a number of reasons. Replaced crank seals and still didn’t help. I tried a macdaddy and a BRPATV impellers and still didn’t seem to keep my temps below 200. I played with the jets like crazy thinking it was jetting with no change.

I finally pulled the trigger on an MSV high flow impeller paired with a mishimoto radiator, hoses and engine ice. The machine runs around 160 on my inline autometer gauge no matter how hard I push it. I don’t have alot of hours on the machine since the install but we have trips planned, will be reporting back on the performance in a later review.

The impeller itself is a well built piece of engineering. The coating on the shaft looks like it will last a long time without grooving, the impeller wheel actually matches the indentation in the cover. Form follows function and the guys at MSV killed it with this design. I really hate buying things twice and in my case 3 times before something works. Im at the point of “buy once, cry once” don’t waste your money on cheap eBay impellers. I should have bought this sooner

I built this Banshee for my wife and kids. When I ride the temps are fine but when they ride it they tend to run it hot. I run the Macdaddy impeller and after reading about this impeller and talking to Jason I wanted to give it a try and would report back. After testing I found out the Macdaddy was far from the best!

Oregon Coast Sand Dunes, Winchester Bay:
    Banshee Hill
    Ambient Temp 64º
Mostly sunny with very light breeze

    Banshee Build:
    T-5 Pipes
    Keihin carbs with pod filter
    4º advanced timing
    Dune port
    Stock radiator
    Cool Head
Inline heat sink with temp gauge
    Sonoco 110 w/Yamalube a 40:1

    Warm up to 140º

Five hard pulls up Banshee Hill back-to-back-to-back….. with no cool down.
The ATV got no hotter than 165º.
This ATV runs consistent 180º with Macdaddy impeller!

Very impressed that I am now running 15º cooler and my kids and wife no longer run it hot!

I have the MSV Racing impeller in my CR500 that works awesome so it was a no brainier for me to buy the Banshee impeller. I bought the Banshee Impeller kit, optiflow Radiator Cap, supercool, and the redline gear oil all at once. Fast shipping and now my Banshee runs cooler in the desert.

I needed to replace my impellar shaft because my oem was groved. I never want to replace the shaft again. I saw the msv kit and talked with Jason he said to read about diamond like carbon DLC and after that i was sold.

I did the initial testing on this impeller at the Oregon Dunes. A few things impressed me. The part is beautiful! Hate to hide it away. Funny how no one else thought about the reduced shafts size and the DLC coating on the shaft is amazing!
Doing the hill shot testing and then riding the dunes with the MSV impeller the Banshee never lost power when being mercilessley flogged by my 315lbs where my P.D impeller would show power loss due to engine progressively getting hotter and hotter after the second long hill shot. If the shaft never does wear out this impeller/shaft is a steal.
